The University of Pécs (UP) participated as consortium leader in the ERASMUS+ project “Educating Experts of the Future :Developing Bioinformatics and Biostatistics competencies of European Biomedical Students”. In addition to the active role of the Hungarian Centre of Genomics and Bioinformatics of UP, the Polish Medical University of Bialystok and the Dutch-Belgian Transnational University of Limburg (Hasselt University) contributed to project. The main objective was the development of an e-learning teaching material for bioinformaticians and statisticians. The resulting curriculum will both help to increase the educational potential in the field of applied biostatistics in bioinformatics and life sciences and provide a basis for future educational initiatives such as joint programmes and student exchanges.
