100th Sequencing Run on the Ion Torrent Genexus in The Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility
The Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility of Pécs in Hungary is dedicated to staying at the forefront of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, providing cutting-edge solutions that align with the latest trends in research and clinical diagnostics. To fulfill this mission, the Core Facility acquired the Ion Torrent Genexus Integrated Sequencing System in 2023—a revolutionary platform that automates the entire sequencing workflow. This state-of-the-art system performs nucleic acid isolation, library preparation, sequencing, bioinformatic analysis, and even report generation—all in one seamless process. Its fully automated capabilities make it a game-changer in the field of NGS, offering unparalleled efficiency and precision.
The commitment of the Core Facility has led to our 100th sequencing run on the Genexus system. These 100 runs span 70 successful projects and an impressive 650 sequenced and analyzed samples, representing a significant contribution to tumor diagnostics and personalized medicine. We remain dedicated to supporting Hungarian healthcare by providing the highest standards in genomic technology.
